Actual Seminar at Burke's Cleaners
A recent seminar given to 30 CSR’s at Burke’s Cleaners in Fort Collins, CO, revealed that counter staff thirst for information, education, and guidance. Given at 7:30pm – at their main plant in Loveland – the seminar was very well attended. CSR’s kept raising their hands with questions … They learned how to be more attentive to customers’ needs and how to ask the right questions – how to identify pre-existing conditions, how to advise men about shrinkage in collars and the dangers of extended use of starch, how to “blot & stop” on silk neckties and silk blouses, how to keep their alterations department very busy!
Asked a week later if the information learned at the seminar has helped, one CSR at Burke’s replied, “The men have been very grateful for the care tips I’ve given them on neckties.” Management loved the vision Boorstein shared about empowering the customer and helping them help themselves, until they could get their clothing to Burke’s for professional care.
Are Your CSR's Building Sales in Your Company?
Customer Service Representatives (CSR’s) are a drycleaner’s conduit to their customers. In the highly-competitive world of drycleaning, consumers are searching for quality, personal service, and educated staff. Drycleaners are looking for CSR’s that know how to satisfy customers, build sales, and reduce claims. Boorstein teaches all these skills.
Steve Boorstein, a third generation drycleaner, author, and consultant, believes that the “Golden Age of Customer Service” is the key to customer retention and customer satisfaction. Boorstein says, “There are hundreds of cleaners in every town, many of which produce similar quality. People respond to caring, educated staff in their time of need. It’s your educated CSR’s that set you apart and keep customers coming back.”
Simply put, customers are constantly challenged when shopping and caring for their clothing; How to buy quality clothing, what to do in a “Stain Emergency” when a spill occurs, why sweaters develop holes and pills – and the most pressing issue – why men’s dress shirts wear out before their time.
“Test Your CSR” seminars address all these issues. Boorstein spends real time giving CSR’s the answers to these questions, and more. “Make your drycleaners the ‘Go-To’ place, and rise above the competition by equipping your CSR’s with ammunition: Give back an order, give a care tip. This keeps customers coming back.”
